Today I remembered a chocolate bar which I would frequently buy throughout my childhood. The chocolate bar was called 'Choclairs'. It was a wafer based chocolate bar that was so delicious. Apparently according to a Wikipedia entry it was distributed in Canada alone by Neilson.
I guess not everybody felt the same way in Canada. I noticed it was not available in Canada during my teenage years and its fondness faded away like other forgotten things in my life. Kit Kat is not the same and in fact I have never found a substitute. There are some high end chocolate wafer bars I have eaten that in fact probably taste better but I cannot pinpoint any. Maybe Purdy's has something of the likes.
It is interesting how so many things some of us young adults would eat 10 or 15 years ago are being discontinued. I have noticed that there are many cereals which are not available in Canada anymore.

On another note, I have always wondered if the Toronto-Canada based rapper Choclair adopted his name from the candy. He is a sick rapper who has also apparently disappeared (well not completely) - I have seen him on Twitter so I guess he is around.
